>If you want to create a device description, what keywords do you need to >enter? Check out the IBM manual called OS/400 Printer Device Programming. It has a chapter devoted specifically to TCP/IP attached printers. You can get it online (V4R3) at http://publib.boulder.ibm.com:80/cgi-bin/bookmgr/BOOKS/QB3AUJ02/CCONTENTS Basically, it looks a lot like a traditional twinax printer, except that you have a device class of *LAN, you specify the port the printer listens to, you specify the IP address of the printer, and the name of the driver program. Here's an HP5P: DEVCLS *LAN TYPE 3812 MODEL 1 LANATTACH *IP PORT 9100 ATTACH *DIRECT TRANSFORM *YES MFRTYPMDL *HP5 RMTLOCNAME TECH_PARK WSCST *NONE USRDFNOBJ TECH_PARK *LIBL *PSFCFG USRDTATFM *NONE SYSDRVPGM *HPPJLDRV TEXT Tech Park HP5P The definition object (CRTPSFCFG) is all defaulted. You can tweak the workstation configuration object (WSCT), but we haven't had to do that here. I believe the Midrange-L archives should help with that. This topic is a perennial favourite!
