>We have been able to send E-Mail from the AS/400 to a CC mail user but >can anyone tell me what I have to do to send E-Mail from an application >running on the AS/400 to a Microsoft Exchange mail user? >Thanks >Bill Erhardt >Baldwin Hardware Corp >erhardt@baldwinhq.com We have our Exchange server talking to our AS/400 thru a Microsoft SNA server; mail is forwarded as if it were another AS/400. I helped with the original configuration (mostly translating AS/400 terminology to Microsoft terminolgy), and I know the settings on the Microsoft side are touchy and brittle. It took a while to set up this link, and, from what the network-side gurus tell me, we wouldn't do it that way again. We also have a TCP/IP link from the 400 to The Internet and points West. The only special setup for email using TCP/IP is to create the System Directory Entry with mail preference options "1" and "3" (and to point the entry to "TCP/IP"). I'm not at work so I can't tell what the text is to go with those numbers. But IBM sez that the documentation hasn't caught up with the current (v4r2) software. --Paul E Musselman PaulMmn@ix.netcom.com +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
