I went to the web site but did not find the first system I worked on listed. My first day in Data Processing was 6/6/66 - nice easy date to remember. I started with and IBM 402 accounting machine(2 of them) and all the other peripheral unit record equipment that was in vogue at the time. The first "computer" was a 360/20 with 8K of memory, no disk, and lots and lots and lots of cards. I still have a pile of 5081's in my desk I take out and look at and "sort" with my sorting needle. The S/32 and S/38 were the only two machines I never worked on. I worked on a S/32 at the IBM Data Center in Milwaukee for a few hours during a conversion but that really doesn't count. IBM wanted us to be a beta site for the S/38 but management just would not do it and I understand why - but it sure would have been nice. Spent two weeks at Rochester before the AS/400 was announced converting our app's (we were an IBM VAR) to the new machine. That was an exciting two weeks. Enough reminiscing. I need to get back home and finish my taxes. Dilbert's Words Of Wisdom: "I love deadlines. I especially like the whooshing sound they make as they go flying by."
