My candidate for the most durable printer made is the DD 6807 Band Printer. Pounding out 600 lines a minute they will run continuously nearly forever. My first experience with that thing was on a S/36 which was replacing a S/34 in 1984. That printer, though having printed on several small forests, still prints on to this day! I also know of at least 4 other copies of that same printer still going in production environments. Honorary mention to the Printronix P150 'shake and bake' shuttle matrix printers. I know of copies of that one running for at least 12 years. Not flashy but it does barcodes. - Larry > I can second that. We have a DD 6703 matrix printer that we bought in > 1984. It has outlasted 2 of the 3 systems its been attached to (System/36 > 5362, AS/400 B20, and currently AS/400 436) and it's still going!
