Roger, That's a pretty nifty little contest you came up with there. It made me think of the opposite though. What would the longest, most "Rube Goldberg like" program be for listing its own source? There's something to think about if anyone's interested. Come up with the most complex, convoluted logic, which must also work, to list the source of a program. Tell you what...as long as David Gibbs doesn't mind...Somehow I ended up with an extra, 1st Quarter 1999 Midrange Computing Resource CD this month, which I will give away to whoever comes up with the most original, most creative, "clean (no foul language or concepts)", most convoluted, complex, funny and Rube Goldberg like set of logic for getting a program to list its own source. Just to make this simple, don't list any actual program code, unless it helps to explain the logic. Also, the logic must work and it must all work together to produce the final output. You are not limited to the world of ether...either. Let's keep this to simple English and Psuedo-code type of logic. I'll give you guys 24 hours or so to come up with something...say...until 5 P.M. Central time on Friday, April 9. Post the entries here so we can all enjoy them.
