Don't know about unplugging. When we received our 3570, it came with the wrong cable. When we did receive the correct cable, our CE was able to connect the 3570 and the 620 immediatly knew it was there. -----Original Message----- From: Pete Hall <pbhall@execpc.com> To: midrange-l@midrange.com <midrange-l@midrange.com> Date: Wednesday, April 07, 1999 8:08 PM Subject: Quiesced???? >We just got a leased S20 in for Y2K testing. The 3570 manual says, >"The host (initiator) SCSI port must be quiesced before removing any SCSI >device". Does this mean that if we vary the tape library off (it's the >only device on the SCSI bus) we can safely unplug it without causing a SCSI >reset, or must we power down the system? >Pete Hall >pbhall@execpc.com >http://www.execpc.com/~pbhall >+--- >| This is the Midrange System Mailing List! >| To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. >| To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. >| To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. >| Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com >+--- > +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
