>I do have some questions though for you structure purest: >What is the functional difference between a Leave, or Iter operation and >the GOTO and TAG? I would never qualify as a structure purest, but I see a huge difference between these. There is no guarentee that a GOTO will simply bypass a section of code and the TAG will appear somewhere shortly after the GOTO. A LEAVE or ITER is confined to the immediate DO loop and is easy see the affect (because we always use ENDDO and not END). The SELECT/WHEN/OTHER/ENDSL has allowed me to greatly reduce the amount of complicated nesting in my code. This is where I used to use GOTO and TAG alot. I will break the structured rules where nesting causes a program to become difficult to read. The ITER and LEAVE has also helped. I veiw the ITER and LEAVE as a controlled GOTO that is easy to follow.
