Well, there is a parameter you can specify when you create an outq, namely SPLFASP. It tells the system the ASP to use for spooled files. You have two options there: *SYSTEM (the system ASP) and *OUTQASP (the ASP of the output queue). Now, what if I set SPLFASP(*OUTQASP) and create the outq in a user ASP? Will the spooled files still reside in the system ASP? And what if I save QSPL to a save file, and restore it to another ASP? Will the spooled files migrate to the new ASP? Benji, I'm not sure what you're trying to achieve here. But one thing you should be aware of is that the spooled files do not physically reside in the output queue; they are in physical files in the QSPL library and are not kept separately by output queue. The output queue is only a logical grouping and routing device. Why do you perceive a need to have spooled files for a particular printer in a separate ASP?
