Ian-- By default, NetServer wants to use your Windows networking client user ID and password to connect to the AS/400. If the password isn't the same, you'll be prompted for it. There is a new CA/400 Express redbook at http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/SG245191/sg245191.htm that comes as close any IBM docs to provide a solid chapter of NetServer documentation. IBM is quite proud of it, it still seems weak to me. But, it is better than nothing! The NetServer chapter includes a section on security and user authorization. There is a guest profiles feature that may solve your problem. rp +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
