You can do that if you want!

Basically, you monitor for the *ESCAPE message, then do a RCVMSG loop to 
get the *DIAG messages.  You can build a quickie table of "English" 
messages by creating your own *MSGF.  Copy the messages from the IBM 
message file, change the text and the re-send the messages you received 
from the job msgq using your "english" message file.  Look into MRGMSGF to 
extract the IBM messages you want to manipulate and put into your own 
*MSGF.
