Yup, we heard 2200 'Full Paid'. I played traffic cop at Registration and
although it went VERY smooth (Kudos to the team) part of that was because of the
low attendance.

The scheduling 'brains' put Speakers like Bob Tipton, John Sears, Janet
Kreuger, and even Gold Medal winner Randy Munson in tiny rooms. Come on!!

Agreed. Now if we could just get back the FREE Beer....

The 'gent' was Rip VanWinkle (aka Robert Scheutte) author of such S/3x gems as
RPG II 1/2 and RCW/3x. Bob's last COMMON was 1991. I knew Bob back in his
previous COMMON days, he was a frequent speaker and keeper of the old S/36
grafitti library. Bob was NOT Happy with many of the changes he saw. THings
like the huge production at opening session and other glitzy non-productive
stuff. Huge increases in price, fewer sessions and expensive hotels were not
favorites of his either. He also commented to me that the 'near total lack of
volunteers' was appalling.

Having attended COMMON since 1988 I have to agree with much of what Bob says
too.
