My memory may be fuzzy, but I could swear that even the POSDBF didn't work in this situation a few years back? I seem to remember years ago being unable to find any way to reset the file to the beginning in a CL program, and I know I tried POSDBF. I know it works now, because I just tested it!!! Fuzzy memory? Or has something changed? After performing a CPYFRMQRYF the pointer used to be left at the end of the file (not sure if this is still the case) The next step after the copy is to perform a POSDBF OPNID(AAA) POSITION(*START) Cheers Neil > -----Original Message----- > From: Ravi [SMTP:ravi@spacestar.com] > Sent: Thursday, 11 March 1999 07:15 > To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com > Subject: Re: OPNQRYF record count > > Joe, > > You can RCVF in the CL and monitor for CPF0864 > or > CPYFRMQRYF into a temp file and RTVMBRD to check number of records in > the member. > > Ravi > Joe Giusto wrote: > > > > Is there any way to see how many or if any records were selected with an > > OPNQRYF statement.
