Roger/Henrik, >The LAN card on the IPCS card _cannot_ be used directly by the AS/400. The >LAN card on the IPCS card can be used to connect the AS/400 to the network, >but then the AS/400's pipeline to the network is dependent on the NT Server >running. When the NT Server is down, so is the AS/400's network. But it can be used indirectly, even if you don't use the IPCS as a LAN server. I have the old 486-based FSIOP in my system, not the IPCS or whatever they call the new one (hard to keep up on the name!). But starting with V3R7 there is a no-charge option 57xxSA2 called Integration Services for FSIOP. I presume it also works with the IPCS, or that there is another similar option. The Integration Services allows me to use the FSIOP's LAN adapter even though I don't run LAN Server or any other extra cost software on the FSIOP. Maybe that's no longer a viable option with the IPCS. There is a separate manual with the steps for activating the LAN adapter when using the FSIOP in this manner. It is SC41-3123-03, Integration Services for File Server I/O Processor.
