Thanks for the advice. My only problem was that I wasn't entering the
entire URL. That works fine as long as you include a pass in the config.
Now that they have seen this information they want their own page.

I have a default instance running now. Do I just start another instance
pointing to another page? With the correct pass paramaters?

You probably only use a link like this for your local pages.

   <A HREF="dcvend.html">Links to our vendors' sites</A>

To go outside to the internet the link would be this way.

<A HREF="http://www.search400.com"><IMG SRC="ball1.gif">
          The AS/400 Specific Search Engine</A>

You may be working without a DNS within your network so use the ip
number.

<A HREF="http://10.9.50.123/page.html"><IMG SRC="ball1.gif">
          The AS/400 Specific Search Engine</A>

When I find a link I want to add to my pages I 'cut' the URL from my
browser and then 'paste' the address into the html. <A HREF=" --paste
here-- ">text</A>

Subject: Http server questions

We have one instance configured on our ICS. It is not connected to the
internet. I would like to link the web page I am using residing on the
AS400 to an IP address that is not on the AS400 but is on the same LAN.

If I just type the IP into the browser it brings up that page nicely.
If I link
that page to web page it errors 'Not found - file doesn't exist or is
read
pro.... etc.'

Any and all advice is appreciated.

thanks in advance
Archie
