I need to configure several models of Apple laser printer to print from the 400. The printers include 16/600 PS, Elite 12/600, and 8500. We are connected to all remote facilities via TCP/IP. We run approx 90 Lexmark OPTRA series printers, which are configured as *LAN TCP/IP ASCII printers using CRTDEVPRT. We have had few problems with this config setup. The IBM support line suggested setting the OPTRAs up with CRTDEVPRT as opposed to creating a TCP/IP LPR Remote Writer. I would like to set the Apple printers up in a similar manner. On the 12/600, a config printout shows an LPD port of 515, TCP port 3300, Telnet port 23. It also indicates that it is functioning in PCL mode only. It also indicates that it emulates an HPIII D printer. The IBM support folks said that they need the type/make of network card and remote print queue value. The only net connection I can see is an ethernet twisted-pair transceiver. As for a rmtprtq, I haven't got a clue. Is it possible to set these up using a *LAN type config? Is there any additional info that I need to supply? Any Help/direction would be greatly appreciated! +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
