Hi Michael are you saying you want to authenticate the directory on the webserver. If so what release of OS/400 are you at because at V430 the security is very good and you have a lot of options even if the docs are not so great. The quickest way is to use a single validation list and then just secure the path against that list adding those users who need access into it. Things can get more complicated if you want and you can start using group files and access control lists, to secure different areas with different security levels. At IGNITe/400 http://www.ignite400.org there is some code from Matt Haas which allows you to automate the whole process rather than using the admin server. Like I say there are lots of options and it can appear very complicated if you try to read the manual!!
