My limited experience is showing me that GUI designed to act and look like a
screen-scraping of a text application will fall woefully short of the potential
of a decently designed gui application.

The advantages of using parts like a notebook, with tabs, to help navigation in
inquiry applications is very useful, and even salesmen can learn to use it. Or
the idea of a scrollable subfile that can be moused through quickly is also a
pretty nice feature. Using other parts with built-in options of valid choices,
like drop-down boxes and spin buttons can be very useful for seldom used
applications that people jsut don't use often enough to remember their choices
and the instructions is another area that a gui helps.

On the other hand, heads-down keying probably is as fast either way. There is
no requirement that mouse movement be used in a gui. That's just an extra.

I'd add though that I am discovering that client/server itself has some
built-in troubles, and that is the part that would make me be in favor of the
green screen.
