  • Subject: AIT vs DLT experiences?

We're planning to buy a AIT or DLT tape drive for our AS/400. I've heard some
bad things about AIT tapes and tape drives. The dual drives we're looking at
have more than $10,000 Canadian difference - are the Sony AIT drives so much
cheaper because they're not as reliable as DLT?

Also we already have a DLT4000 with a SCSI2 to Fast Wide SCSI cable. Should this
work when attached to a 6501 controller? Could I attach a single
drive DLT7000 to the controller, as well?

Thanks for your help!
