I have written a utility that does exactly this.  It needs some work but is
operational.  I can post the source to midrange-dot-com

Hi everyone:
I am new to this list and I have two questions:

 1) Do any of you know how to get a list of all the Mac(Adapter) addresses
assigned on the AS/400?   I can view them one by one by displaying each
controller description but I cannot get a listing.

2) I want to embed a carriage return/line feed into an ascii text file so
that the 400 will interpret it as a cr/lf and press the enter key for me.
does anyone know how?
