There are several ways this can be done as suggested.
1.) System edit code which also includes an edit mask.
2.) API which uses an edit mask
3.) DDS
4.) create a 10 position field and place the zero in the leftmost
5.) editword('0   -  -    ').
    edtmsk  ('&   &  &    ').
 On output move the ss# to SSedt
field. This works all versions of rpg even internal printer files
or external in dds for both printer and display. Right adjust the
input. I have found it is easier for the user to break up the
fields on entry. Using edit mask skips over those posintions on entry. Make
sure your documentation shows all #'s must be
entered in the SS#. Ex. 081-98-4769 should be entered
081984769

Help..

I' ve created a video file to display our patient information. This info
contains SS# ( numeric 9 0).  I can't seem to get leading zeros to print.
I've tried using editing keywords and can not seem to get it right.  Any
help
would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance.
