SNDPGMMSG embedded in COBOL -- MIDRANGE-L

I have a 'Details Updated' message which I can send from within CL and have
it appear on line 24.

But when I call the CL or send the MSG from within the COBOL program I can
only see it in the JOBLOG.

The end result I'm aiming for is to have this message on display to the
user whether they have returned to screen 1 or exited out of the program to
the menu - would this work anyway or does the msg have to be sent after a
screen write?

Suggestions please.
