Rich (and Simon), I just realized that the OVRDBF allows member(*last) which will cover 80% of my requests. What I will try is to have a dummy query that executes the override for the appropriate files and returns no data. I will post the results. Perhaps you can figure out a way to do the same method in msquery, as it seems to be more server related, not client related. What you need is a mechanism that will pass a query to the 400 unedited. Basically, what appears to be happening is that the AS/400 SQL parser accepts an SQL command named 'CALL'. You can issue a 'query' that will call a program, such as QCMDEXC, and you can pass it (for instance) an OVRDBF command with ovrscope(*job).
