This is the first time I have used MIDRANGE-L, I hope this question is not too far off line for this list. We currently have a multihomed WindowsNT Server at our corporate offices in PA. This server uses an Ethernet adapter to communicate with approx. 25 users on a Windows 95 peer to peer network and a Token-Ring adapter connection to talk to a 9221-130 mainframe VSE/ESA system running TCP/IP for VSE. These two boxes are in the same room and the connection is made over a 14-foot Token-ring cable. Another division of our company in Nashville TN. has an AS400 2043 model 310. We currently have a 9600bps SNA leased line between the two locations, running SNA Primary LU Support(SPLS) and Emulation 3270. These products allow each others terminals to access each others system emulating either a 3270 or 5250 device type. We want to use the WindowsNT Server to access both the mainframe and midrange systems. Some purposes this connection would be used for are TN3270, TN5250, accessing and sharing data, File Transfer Protocol(FTP) of data files, and LPR print functions between the two systems. My experience with the AS400 and WindowsNT are both very limited and as a result I am not really sure what products are even available. At this point in time limiting cost as much as possible is a very major consideration. Is anybody out there currently doing this? Does anyone have any suggestions how this can be accomplished? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Scotty -- William(Scotty) D.
