Embedded SQL problems

Hi All,
        In my SQLRPGLE program , I'm doing an embedded SQL statement
which is doing an UPDATE on a physical file. The program runs but does
not do the UPDATE. There is no problem with the selection criteria as
the statement is executed in the SQL Interactive session.
        The job log shows the following message 'Member journaled to
journal *N'. What do I do?
