I've got a good guess.I just upgraded my system by adding memory and DASD, and installing mirroring and RAID on the disk. Now I did not do any other software upgrades. Now all of a sudden, a dial-up SNADS line to another AS/400 is no longer working. Anyone know of any idea why this might happen?
There is an internal rule that says that (some? all?) communications will not work if the Machine Pool is memory starved. But the rule can get confused if the ratio of memory in the Machine Pool falls below a certain level (I've heard that the level is 25% of total memory, but don't take that as definitive).
So move a bunch of memory from *BASE to the Macine Pool, restart SNADS, and see if that fixes it.
