Hello Bruce, I have often found INDARA useful. Because it causes a separate indicator area to be defined (with room for all 99) you can add new indicators to a display file without having to recompile all the programs that use it. Now I realise that in most cases a single display file is used by a single program but when it is shared by many programs each using different formats INDARA saves some time because the LVLCHK doesn't change. It also allows the display file to be used by any HLL without causing contortions for the programmer. RPGers can ignore its existence and COBOLers will be grateful. It costs nothing to use and is good practice -- although it is not absolutely necessary :). Regards, Simon Coulter. «»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«» «» FlyByNight Software AS/400 Technical Specialists «» «» Eclipse the competition - run your business on an IBM AS/400. «» «» «» «» Phone: +61 3 9419 0175 Mobile: +61 0411 091 400 «» «» Fax: +61 3 9419 0175 mailto: shc@flybynight.com.au «» «» «» «» Windoze should not be open at Warp speed. «» «»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«» //--- forwarded letter ------------------------------------------------------- > X-Mailer: Mozilla 4.05 [en] (Win95; I) > MIME-Version: 1.0 > Date: Thu, 11 Feb 99 17:23:28 -0500 > From: "R.
