I've been using SHUTDN since the /38.  I figured that was obsolete (after 
all, I still use it!).  Dave's right - the INFDS only holds information 
about the status of each file, whereas the program status DS holds 
information about the status of the program.  These data structures are 
documented in the chapter about the RPG cycle and error handling.  For what 
it's worth, I couldn't find a status code that would reflect the program 
being cancelled.

Looking outside the box (thanks James Kilgore!), the CL command RTVJOBA 
will tell you this, as will the QUSRJOBI API (format JOBI0600) In each 
case, look to the field called End Status.
