The real question is not how does one get to make FMTDTA work, but rather: why
bother?

BTW, I've dropped -ALL- relationship with FMTDTA since CPF way back when (S/38)
and just did OPNQRYF.  You may find it is quicker to replace than it is to "make
it work" as written.  Now I'm not picking on you for asking, but really ... why
even bother with making FMTDTA work (which was a concession to the past decade)
when you could spend less time getting the process current with the times.

I believe I've seen postings, more than once, that mention that cause for
maintenance is opportunity to upgrade.

IMHO, learning FMTDTA is about a relevant as learning #GSORT.
