Uttam,

It affects print lines that are conditioned on the 1P indicator. Coding a 1
in col. 41 forces the system to go through the alignment process when the
file is actually printed. The first line is printed and a message is sent
to the system operator's message queue giving you the chance to check the
forms alignment and the option to print the line again on the next form or
carry on. It does not mean print the first line once and once only.

It's a legacy from the past and you should not use it in new programs. The
ALIGN parameter on the CRTPRTF and OVRPRTF commands does the same thing,
and this is what you should use.
