  WRKOUTQ, option 8 - display spooled file attributes will tell you the 
device type the spooled file is targeted for.

ps - I have also experienced the "AFP" slowdown.  Increasing the memory in 
QSPL will make it much better.  See the Work Management guide for 
recommendations on pool sizes.
