The FSIOP board was renamed "IPCS" for Integrated PC Server quite some time ago. If you go to http://iws.as400.ibm.com/nt/98ntipcs/index.htm you can view the presentation on it from COMMON, Yes, there is a serial port for a modem as well as a parallel port. The present design is limited to a Pentium Pro but I've been told that new generations will have PIIs.
