I do not know whether this is the same problem (symptoms you quote are somewhat different), but there was a bug in (all) RISC releases, preventing some access paths (originating from pre-RISC releases) to be saved for previous release. A string of PTFs were created a couple of months ago. I do not remember numbers, but there's a simple circumvemtion - CRTDUPOBJ relevant files to another library and this should cure the files. I'm trying to re-encapsulate some CISC objects that were created on a RISC machine. The objects and tape were created with TGTRLS(V3R1M0) on a V4R1 machine then restored on a V3R1 machine. When I *SAVE* the objects back to tape, I get damaged physical files. There is an PTF for V3R1M0 (APAR# MA14506) that corrects a problem where PROGRAMS will go damaged if compressed on a RISC system, restored on a CISC system and re-saved. I've got to get this tape re-encapsulated for CISC as soon as possible. Any suggestions? Thanks! david -- David Gibbs Sr. Software Engineer Mortice Kern Systems US, Inc. 2500 S.
