  • Subject: Convert packed data for HP3000 using 'C' instead of 'F' for positive numbers

Does anyone have a good way of getting the 400 to store (or at least copy to
tape) C's instead of F's for the sign part of a packed field? I need a
packed field of 12345C instead of 12345F for processing on an HP3000. I've
written a program that checks each packed field to see if it is >=0 and then
bitoff's bits 7&8 to change the F to a C, but this is rather ugly, I'm
looking for a better way.
