Roger, I am also greatly interested in learning JDE. Presently Iam working as a consultant with almost 8+ years on IBM AS/400. By reading the manuels, I have got some reasonable knowlegde on the Technical aspect on JDE. I am available to work as a part time thru remote login. My contact email address is rajansrinivasan@hotmail.com. Could you please tell me, how the recruitment goes by with JD Edwards. Because when I look into SAP and People Soft market they have separete it out into Technical expert and Functional Expert. Q1 . Is it the same on JD Edwards?. In other words, if I say I am a technical person, will the interviewer will ask me questions on Functional aspect?. Q2. Could you please tell me , what they have on Techincal CD?. Is it as breif as manuel or its descriptive?. For example, if I want to see all the menu's and what programs are executed and so on?. Thanks in advance Regards Raj Roger Boucher <RBoucher@stanpac.com> on 01-14-99 11:49:38 AM Please respond to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com To: "'MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com'" <MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com> cc: (bcc: Rajan Srinivasan/Servicing/SuperiorBank) Subject: RE: RPG/400 to JDEdwards Assuming you have a solid base in RPG/400 programming, you need to get ahold of (somehow) a Technical Foundations manual and an APCS manual from JDEdwards. These will get you going just fine. They main problem being how to get one. A good way to start in JDE is to go to work for one of their business partners, who likely will pay to send you to the appropriate training classes. -----Original Message----- From: Uttam H Naidu [mailto:UTTAMHN@india.mastech.com] Sent: Wednesday, January 13, 1999 10:06 PM To: 'MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com' Subject: RPG/400 to JDEdwards Hello Friends, I know this has been asked previously. But I can't stop myself from asking the same. What's required for an RPG/400 or COBOL/400 programmer to enter into JDEdwards. Rather which part of AS/400 should he be sound in order to enter the same. Thanx for the answers in advance.
