  • Subject: Question on Multiple Printers using One Outq
  • From: Chuck Lewis <CLEWIS@xxxxxxxxxx>

Hi Folks !

Seem's like I remember reading/hearing about the ability to have
multiple printers share a single outq. This was a few years back I'm not
sure if it was a feature of the operating system or if it was an extra
from IBM...

Anyone familiar with this or doing this ?

We have a single 4230 that prints out orders for walk-in counter sales
and at our busier branches it is causing a backup waiting for stuff to
print. I'm kicking around one faster printer or an additional 4230.

Update - I tried and you can start multiple printer writers to a single
outq...

How effecient is this ?

Thanks for any information !

Chuck
