First of all, thanks in advance for any help received. I have an Excel
spreadsheet that has multiple columns totaling 322 characters. It had multiple
sheets, so I did a 'save as' and deleted the unnecessary sheets. I formatted
the cell widths to exact whole numbers, and padded the first row fields out to
proper lengths with X's. So if field had 'ABCD' and it was a 10 char field, I
padded it as 'ABCDXXXXXX'. I did a 'save as' different types. The only one
that worked and FTP'd into a undelimited flat file on the 400 that I could
copy to the correct file with *nochk was when I saved as Formatted Text, space
delimited. This saved it as a .prn file. All was well, except that it cut the
length to 240, even though I had proper padding. My client has Hummingbird. I
need this file uploaded asap.... can anyone help?
Thanks so much;
Kathie
