Load the latest tape drive microcode (you'll have to order this-P/N
06J0026) onto the tape drive. Our microcode level on the tape drive shows
up as EC35100 Rev C. I'm not sure what the earliest one you can use is.

To check your microcode level:
Press MENU
Press NEXT until DIAG TESTS is displayed
Press SELECT
Press NEXT to display DISP F/W REV
Press SELECT to display EC LEVEL
 Your microcode level will display
Press CANCEL until you get back to UNLOADED (or NO CARTS)

Once those are on, change the tape configuration on the front panel (See
the Installation, Planning and Operator's Guide) so that option 63 reads
3490 MOD F, and option 65 reads 18 TRK WTR UNLKD (the note in the book
looks confusing, ignore it)

Then reconfigure the drive so the device description on the AS/400 comes up
as an F model. (If you miss this it will do ugly things like say the
device description is partially damaged when you try to initialize a tape.)
