Back to Basics

Hi Everybody,

I have some basic questions:
(1) Is LIC machine dependent?
(2) How many types of LIC are there?
(3) What MI programming does that API programming  can't do?
(4) Can someone draw the 'Layered OS/400 Structure' for me? I can't see 
it in my InfoSeeker.
