There is a book about Synon (Cool:2E). Synon Developer's Guide for the
AS/400. By John Porter  ISBN: 0-7-050667-1. McGraw- Hill Inc 1-800-822-8158
in the USA. I have the book, but have not read it yet, so do not know if it
is good or not. I have worked with Synon since 88. I like it. I checked on
the price last week for an AS400-170 it was $80,000 to $104,000 or for two
developers it is $30,000. The web site is:
