Hey, I'm glad I'm not the only one. I couldn't figure out how to give a character variable a value. Of course, as soon as I sent a message to the list, it worked fine. Oh well, I guess I really do belong in the slow group. Thanks, everyone, for the help. At the risk of looking dumb (again), when I run STRQMQRY against a query definition, I don't get any of the query's formatting. (Column headings, summary functions, report breaks, etc. are ignored). Am I doing something wrong (which I've been known to do on occasion), or is the query definition always ignored by STRQMQRY?
