Hi Vikas,

I differ with your opinion.
All the attributes of a subfile are defined in Subfile control
record(defined by SFLDSPCTL) only.
Subfile record format(defined by SFLDSP) is itself defined on subfile
control record format. Therefore you must have a SFLDSPCTL entry in your
display file if you want to have a Subfile.
Moreover, even to display output capable fields of control record(such
as header etc.), you need to display control record.
And if you are processing function keys in subfile, there has to have a
control record format.

Thanks,
Rajeev.

Hi,

My Query is,

I would like to know whether it is mandatory to use the SFLDSPCTL
keyword while coding the DDS for all subfile related programs.
I have read that SFLDSPCTL is required only when you perform an input
operation to the Subfile Control Record Format--is that so?If so,why?
And if SFLDSP is mandatory, why not SFLDSPCTL?

Thanks,
