  • Subject: ASCII to EBCDIC problem with CA/400 and FTP
  • From: Fred Pritchard <pritch@xxxxxx>

Hi All,

I hope you all had a happy holiday.

Now for my opportunity. I am uploading a text file to the AS/400 using
Client Access. The file on the AS/400 has 1 field 80 bytes
alphanumeric. The text file has 80 byte records. When the file is
uploaded it converts single quotes (') to something that looks like an
'AE' squished together. I am assuming it has something to do with the
ASCII to EBCDIC conversion table. I haven't been able find the table it
is using or how to change it. Has anyone seen this before or have any
suggestions?

When I use FTP it puts a space where the single quote should be.

Thanks for you help,
