we are V4R2 going to V4R3 2nd qtr. 99. My project is due 1stqtr 99. I need to give interactive remote intranet access to dealers nationwide. Thanks for the help. If you have any more input or resources or questions please roll them my way, we are on the maiden voyage. Thanks again Archie >>> "Bleddyn Williams" <bleddyn@morpheus.ltd.uk> 12/23/98 03:36am >>> It will really depend on the release of OS/400 which you are on as to the webserver you choose to play with. Prior to V420 then it should be INET's Commerce server if you are looking for native 400 capability with SSL support, IBM's ICS product wasn't very good then. At V420 then CommerceServer and ICS are very close together not that much to choose between them at all. Then at V430 its IBM's HTTP Server (renamed from ICS) which is by far the best product, it can do a lot of things and has more options than you will probably use which can make it seem very complicated sometimes. The options are good the presentation and explanation of how they work not so good. Also at V430 you now see BETA code for the Apache port to the AS/400, which is a whole new OPEN ballgame, and also INET are porting across the Netscape server to the 400. Both are looking good with Apache bringing us in line with most of the other platforms and it will be interesting to see how many of its plugins will be ported to the 400. So my personal advice at the moment is get onto V430 and use IBM's HTTP server its free built in and has SSL support, then take a look at Net.Data.
