Roger,

They're documented in a whole bunch of manuals.  I'd try Work
Management, Security Reference, Security Basic and Backup Recovery to
start, depending on which system values you're more interested in.

For the sake of anyone new to the list.....(this info was supplied
several times previous)

http://as400bks.rochester.IBM.com will bring you to a very useful page
I go into the middle option called Online Library, just select your
language
On the next page, select your version.
On the next page, instead of entering a title of book + Find, click
Search Books and you'll get a screen where you can enter a search
string.  I entered system values and it returned 300 books.
