Jim,

If your requirement is ASCII format , you can use the following parameters
in the CPYTOSTMF command.
If you need any other format , you can use the corresponding translation
table.

                                         Copy To Stream File (CPYTOSTMF)

     Type choices, press Enter.

     From database file member . . . >
'QSYS.LIB/YourLib.LIB/Yourflatfile.FILE/YourflatFile.MBR'
     To stream file . . . . . . . . . >
'QDLS/YourFolder/YourStreamfile'
     Copy options . . . . . . . . . . > *REPLACE
          *NONE, *ADD, *REPLACE
^^^^ Data conversion options . . . . > *TBL
*AUTO, *TBL, *NONE
     Database file CCSID . . . . . . *FILE 1-65533,
*FILE
     Stream file codepage . . . . . . *STMF 1-32767,
*STMF
^^^^ Conversion table . . . . . . . . 'QSYS.LIB/QASCII.TBL'

     End of line characters . . . . . *CRLF *CRLF,
*LF, *CR, *LFCR...

Note: Here QASCII is the TABLE is QSYS library for conversion to ASCII.

Subject: CPYTOSTMF

OK, I've located a command that I belive will copy an AS/400 flat file to a
DIR, which is the CPYTOSTMF (Copy to Stream File) command. I am able to
execute the command just fine, but the data gets scrambled to something I'm
not sure what is.

The file is simple text. Is anyone familiar how I should handle the data
conversion options and code pages?

Jim Anderson
