If printer is configured as 3812, it is NOT IPDS printer. *IPDS is a
separate printer type.
There were two flavors of 3812 printers - one supported SCS only, and
another with IPDS support.
Former one would auto-configure as 3812 printer, and latter as *IPDS
printer.

SCS suppport of 3812 was the most complete. So when you configure
virtual printer with 3812 printer type, you are simply telling the
system you want full SCS support.
