Mike,

There are at least two ways to generate journal entries, the SNDJRNE command, 
and
the QJOSJRNE
api.

You can generate any journal entry 'type' that you want, but you can only
generate journal entry 'codes' of 'U' (Stands for User generated code...the
restriction on entering 'U' code entries is to prevent anyone from posting bogus
journal entries to look like IBM generated stuff.)
