I'm going from V4R3 to V3R2. Does remote OUTQ exist in that environment?

Alex,

Isn't that exactly what remote output queue support does for you without the
need to write your own code ?
Or did your code precede that feature ?

We have the same situation. I chose to define an OUTQ (on the AS/400 with
no physical printers attached ) with a DTAQ attached to it. I wrote a
little CL to monitor that data queue. When an entry arrives, I do a SNDDST
to the other AS/400 using a user profile with the same name as the physical
printer. That user profile has a default OUTQ of...you guessed it...the
physical printer name. In effect, when you print to printer PRT01 for
example, on the first AS/400, the output automatically prints on the other
machine with no user intervention. Rather than risk getting flamed, I would
be glad to send sample CL by whatever means you like.

I have 2 AS/400s, a Model 500 and a Model 170. The 170 does not have any
printers attached to it. What is the best way to send reports from an
outq on the 170 to an outq on the 500 to be printed.

Thanks in advance
