Subject: RE: RPG,COBOL or JAVA

I have noticed that a lot of you long-time midrange users are very
defensive about JAVA replacing RPG and COBOL. I feel like I have to
mention that RPG and COBOL 'obviously' will never disappear. If that were
going to happen it would have happened a long time ago, not after the
languages both established 20 year old footholds in the industry. However,
Java is the new kid on the block so to speak that has much to offer and
should not be shrugged off due to the insecurities of current RPG and COBOL
programmers. JMHO.
