  • Subject: Question on Purchasing Terminals (don't laugh...)
  • From: Chuck Lewis <CLEWIS@xxxxxxxxxx>

Hi Folks,

New job and sort of "back in time". It's a Unix shop, dumping an NCR box
for an AS/400 (YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH). Unfortunately I got here to
late to avoid the purchase of a bunch of dumb terminals (from Decision
Data). They are AMBER screen (not even COLOR) the I-486-A model. We have
had 1/10th of the total ordered DOA so I am very leery of these things.

Been a LONG time since I had to look at terminals; last place we were
BUSY replacing terminals with PC's and had LAN's in place (no LAN's here
YET...).

Those of you folks using for terminals - what are you buying and who are
you buying from/name of contact ? We need to order additional terminals
and I want something RELIABLE !

Might be best to contact me directly/off list to avoid boring or
irritating others :-)

Thanks !!!!

Chuck
